Everyone has a different style however I’ve always been a horrible test taker. First time around I solely used Mark K lectures (would recommend, very helpful tips/mnemonics), and archer. Fact memorization is good, but better to back it up with a structure for the facts to stick to. When overwhelmed by too many topics to learn, organize them into systematic lists and take them one system at a time. So for that it is better than archer . However, archer is good because it’s vagueness is just like nclex questions. BoardVitals, however, have a straightforward list of prices than UWorld. The former offers a price range of around $90 to $140. What’s great about their pricing is that the middle and highest tiers both offer the same features with the only difference being the price and access length.Archer I believe presents very similar to NCLEX and that’s where the usefulness of it applied in my situation. I used UWorld plenty before studying for my last exam, and focused highly on Archer that time (and passed). It is also focused; they do not go into too much that you do not need. I think this is the key to prep, which I missed on my past two attempts just with uworld and saunders. I am now doing Archer qbank, Archer webinars, and Mark k for contents. 2.UWorld was central to my Step 1 preparation for 4 reasons: (1) Helped me identify the most high yield facts/concepts; (2) Taught me more medicine than my school lectures/syllabi ever did; (3) Strengthened my test-taking skills; (4) Hit me with difficult questions that provided a "reality check," which kept me focused, motivated, and sensible about my Step 1 goals.
